  MDRC Participating in Two Social Innovation Fund Projects
July 22, 2010
On July 22, the federal Corporation for National and Community Service announced the selection of 11 intermediaries to participate in the Social Innovation Fund, a new public-private investment vehicle established by the 2009 Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act. MDRC is pleased to be working with two of the intermediaries — the Edna McConnell Clark Foundation and the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City — as an evaluation partner.
 
  MDRC’s Study of Conditional Cash Transfers in NYC Featured on NPR’s Morning Edition

On Monday, July 5, NPR’s “Morning Edition” featured a story by Cindy Rodriguez on MDRC’s recent interim evaluation of New York City’s conditional cash transfer program, called Opportunity NYC–Family Rewards, which offers cash payments to poor families tied to efforts and achievements in children’s education, family preventive health care practices, and parents’ employment.

  Early Results Released from Building Strong Families Demonstration

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has released Strengthening Unmarried Parents Relationships: The Early Impacts of Building Strong Families. Building Strong Families (BSF) tests a voluntary program for low-income unmarried couples, focused on helping them improve their relationships and ultimately benefit their children.
